This month it has been great to get around the country meeting CCAT members and stakeholders. Our government and industry members are doing fantastic work developing and trialling technologies with the aim of solving real safety and productivity challenges in Australia. Research on public sentiment to connected and automated vehicles, the development of automated trucks and smart motorways, and the implementation of Co-operative Intelligent Transport Systems (C-ITS) are just some of the innovations being progressed by our members right now.
On C-ITS, an important sector development this month has been the much-anticipated agreement between Commonwealth, state and territory governments to principles for a national approach to C-ITS in Australia. While governments around the country are at different stages in the testing of C-ITS, the principles provide a starting point for government and industry to implement this technology in a harmonised way.
Our preparations for a national summit on connected and automated transport have also been in full swing. We are looking forward to engaging with key stakeholders in the coming weeks on our Strategic Plan for the summit, which will guide its implementation going forward.
Finally, we have had a fantastic response to our Partnership Opportunities Prospectus for 2024. Partnership opportunities are quickly being locked in, so I encourage you to take a look at the prospectus and get in touch to discuss an opportunity to work with us this year.
