NTRO’s flagship vehicle, the Intelligent Pavement Assessment Vehicle (iPAVE) is Australia’s only continuous deflection platform, capturing real-time structural and surface condition data at traffic speed for roads, ports, and airports. With iPAVE, clients get a richer view of pavement condition above and below the surface.

The iPAVE is a prime mover and trailer system equipped with a heavy load over a single rear axle, designed to replicate real-world loading conditions.
A series of lasers mounted on the trailer measures pavement deflection velocity in the left and right wheel path and includes ground penetrating radar – all while the vehicle travels at highway speeds. Dual HD LIDARS and multiple high-definition cameras with self-cleaning technology serves to collect asset and pavement imagery. The iPAVE is equipped with real-time onboard data computing and processing, and direct-from-vehicle uploads for faster insights.
All of this enables clients to receive a rich all-encompassing assessment of their network without the need for lane closures or disruptive testing.
