Newly appointed state business leader brings major plans for Tasmania

NTRO has expanded its national footprint by appointing Vibeke Matthews as the new State Business Leader of Tasmania.

With a number of roles at Siemens, the Department of Transport and Main Roads in Queensland, and Austroads, Vibeke brings a wealth of experience in mobility technology, decarbonisation and sustainability.

Having recently moved to Tasmania, Vibeke said “I have fallen in love with this beautiful community and with the vast knowledge we have at the NTRO, I hope to not only understand how we can help the Tasmanian market, but also provide knowledge to benefit the State.”

With sustainability being a topic at the forefront for many industries and organisations, Vibeke plans to work with different stakeholders to build upon Tasmania’s mantra of being an environmentally sustainable State.

“Tasmanians have a strong environmental conscious, and with NTRO being at the leading edge with the National Material Science Laboratory in Melbourne and our strong knowledge in the use of sustainable materials, I hope to work in collaboration with councils, the government and industries to continue Tasmania’s passion to be green and sustainable,” Vibeke said.

NTRO CEO, Michael Caltabiano, is thrilled with Vibeke’s appointment and looks forward to delivering successful transport outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

“I am confident that Vibeke will transform the NTRO offering and bring a relevant and excitingly new approach to problem solving in the infrastructure space for Tasmania. Across the road, rail, ports and airport fields Vibeke will be the key point of contact for the suite of NTRO services,” Michael said.
