About this course

The course will use example case studies and outline the challenges faced, and opportunities existing in, the uptake of recycled materials in road construction. The program will provide an expansive insight to sustainable practices in road construction to experienced practitioners and a comprehensive appreciation to executives and those new to the subject.

  • Carbon emission and waste to landfill reduction
  • Beneficial reuse and upcycling

  • Types and characteristics of recycled materials
  • Current and potential road construction applications for recycled materials
  • Practices for incorporating recycled materials into road construction
  • Performance of recycled materials in road construction (case studies, monitoring)

Learning about implementation pathways, including:

  • Feasibility studies

  • Environmental and work, health and safety assessments
