  • Asphalt Production: mix types, aggregate and binder sources and quality assurance testing
  • Asphalt Mix Type Selection: suitability of chosen mix for application and performance characteristics
  • Profiling Operations
  • Tack Coat / Strain Alleviating Membrane Interlayer (SAMI) Placement: binder properties, design and best practice application
  • Truck Transport Practices: release agents, tarping / insulation and logistics
  • Asphalt Paver Design and Operations: paver overview, screed setup and temperature controls, mat placement, and minimising segregation issues
  • Rolling Operations: key principles associated with adequate asphalt compaction
  • Density Testing and Performance Characteristics: key defect identification, density effects on service life and density testing
  • QA Record Management: plant and site records and relevance of site produced quality documentation
  • Asphalt Project Management: relevant state specifications including hold points, safety practices and minimum site placement, compaction and quality standards

If you are delivering road construction projects in Victoria, you must comply with the standards determined by the Victorian Government. These standards are covered in the following workshops.
