RITA the Robobus is Australia and New Zealand’s first mid sized automated driving bus, equipped with SAE Level 4 automated driving technology for trials and demonstrations.
RITA is NTRO’s 16-seat passenger bus, equipped with automated driving technology and advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) to SAE Level 4 standard. RITA is available for transport agencies, bus operators, local councils, airports and other organisations throughout Australia and NZ to undertake in-service trials and controlled demonstrations of robobus technology.

RITA was brought to Australia and NZ by NTRO, with assistance of our technology partner, Japanese company TIER IV. RITA has been fine-tuned for Australian and NZ conditions and has the potential to revolutionise how we use public transport.
Successful, staged deployment of connected and automated buses has the potential to enable a safer, more efficient public transit network and showcase the benefits of autonomous vehicles to the community.
Future use cases could include regional public transport routes, first and last-mile connections, airport and precinct shuttles, late-night services and mobility options for communities with limited access to conventional buses.
