Switch from simple to advanced search by clicking on Advanced Search to the right of the search bar. To switch back, click on Simple Search.
Return to the main search screen by clicking on New Search from the top menu bar.

How to enter search terms:
For results about / with:
Enter:

Advanced Search
Click on ‘advanced search’ to the right of the search bar.
Search filters section:
Any field drop down: choose from title, subject, author etc.
Contains drop down:choose how terms are search eg field contains terms or field contains exact phrase
Enter search term:see instructions under simple search above.
And drop down: combine multiple search criteria using Boolean operators AND, OR, NOT
Resource type: choose from books, journals etc
Start and End Date: limit your search by creation date
Add a new line: to include extra search criteria
Tweak your results
Expand my results – switch on to include results from material outside the Library collection
Sort by – choose to change the sort order from the default setting of Relevance
Limit results by Subject, Resource Type etc.
Further refine your advanced search results by adding new search lines
How to manage your results (when logged in)
Favourites gives you access to your saved search queries, saved records, and your search history.
Save your search queries and records:
Click on Save query to save the search query
Select individual records to save by clicking on the numbered box next to each record
Access Favorites by clicking on the dropdown arrow next to your name when signed in.
Export Results
Select citations to export
Click on the three dots ( ...) in the top right corner
Click on Export RIS
How to sign in (NTRO staff)
Sign in on the top right-hand side of the screen.
Signing in allows you to:
set search preferences for your current and future sessions
