Shane Gregory is the Acting Secretary of Building Tasmania, the Tasmanian Government Agency responsible for transport planning, regulation and delivery and the delivery of the state’s public infrastructure program.
With a successful career in technical, supervisory, management and executive roles in both the public and private sector across South Australia, Western Australia, and Tasmania he has developed broad experience in business, financial and people management, negotiation, and strategic business planning.
He has served in senior management andexecutive roles in Tasmanian Government departments including Premier and Cabinet, State Growth, and Health, as the Transport Commissioner, and on theTasmanian Planning Commission.
He has been a Director of national peak bodies Austroads and Transport Certification Australia; serving as Deputy Chair of the Austroads Board and Chair of the TCA. He was the Austroads Board lead for the Strategic Project – Safety at Road Worksites, developing the new Austroads Guide to Temporary Traffic Management, released in December 2019.
Shane received the Austroads Medal for service, awarded for exceptional contribution to the achievement of Austroads’ objectives over a sustained period, becoming the 11th recipient of the Austroads Medal in its more than 30-year history.
