Course Description

Learn the  essentials of the Road Safety Audit (RSA) process in NTRO’s introductory Road  Safety for Non-Auditors course. Build foundations in Safe System principles,  audit types and phases, and the roles of key stakeholders. Develop confidence  engaging with audits, interpreting findings, documenting decisions and  closing the loop to support safer, defensible project outcomes.

  • Key stakeholders in the RSA process and where non-auditors fit
  • Road safety audit types and the typical RSA process
  • The role of non-adutors during commissioning, conducting, completion and implementation phases
  • A practical RSA case study

  • LO 6 Develop an appreciation of which audit types are commissioned in the pre-construction, construction, and post-construction stage of a project.  
  • LO 7 Understand the road safety audit process and its different phases.

    • Key tasks in each phase
    • Role of different stakeholders in each phase
    • Responsibilities of project managers in each phase
    • Importance of coordination with the design team, asset owner and relevant experts working on a project
