Our next generation road safety tool NetRisk2 is now an award winner.
ARRB is thrilled to have been awarded a Highly Commended in the 2022 3M Australasian College of Road Safety Diamond Awards in Christchurch, New Zealand.
The NetRisk2 project team was led by ARRB's Infrastructure Safety Management lead Emily McLean, and included Dr Brett Eastwood, David McTiernan, Ellen Forbes, David Milling, Joseph Affum, Noha Elazar and Lefei Zhan.
It is ARRB’s second successive 3M ACRS Diamond Award, following on from a Highly Commended in 2021 for a food delivery riders safety project.
The major 2022 3M ACRS Diamond Award winner was Safetek Solutions’ Trisign Remote Access Multi Message signage.

The Hon Michael Wood, New Zealand Minister of Transport, addressed the audience during the evening expressing his admiration for the work that was being done by the attendees to eliminate road trauma.
“We need to stop accepting road trauma. We call it a road toll, but a toll is putting $5 in a collection bin. A lost life is much more than a number and comes at a great cost. We can’t accept that people are killed and maimed on our roads,” Minister Wood said.
The awards were presented by Minister Wood along with Professor Ann Williamson, President of the Australasian College of Road Safety and Mr Michael Holderness, Technical Services Manager for 3M New Zealand.
