NTRO gives evidence at inquiry into severe weather events and roads

Flooded road in Australia

NTRO CEO Michael Caltabiano spoke at the House of Representatives’ Inquiry into implications of severe weather events on regional, rural and remote roads

NTRO Chief Executive Officer Michael Caltabiano was invited to speak at the Federal Parliament House of Representatives’ Inquiry into the implications of severe weather events on the national regional, rural and remote road network.

Michael’s evidence to the House of Representatives’ Standing Committee on Regional Development, Infrastructure and Transport in March 2023 focused on the following areas:

▪ If you don’t measure it; you can’t manage it
▪ Next generation materials
▪ New maintenance approaches – Building in Resilience
▪ Decarbonisation overlay

The NTRO exists to support local, state/territory, and national governments to deliver safer, smarter and more efficient infrastructure systems throughout Australia and New Zealand for all modes of transport.

We work to help agencies and organisations manage their road and transport networks in all situations, including after flood and adverse weather events.
