Renewable energy innovator Infinitev has been presented with NTRO Certification – the first covering a process for the re-use of electric vehicle (EV) batteries in Australia.
Infinitev are recognised innovators in the re-use of vehicular batteries and are keen to promote the highest standards in the industry, through OEMs and recognised industry and research organisations.
NTRO has independently evaluated Infinitev’s process for re-use of NiMH HBEV batteries against its technical claims and current industry requirements– with compliance ultimately being demonstrated against the current technical and evaluation framework.
Infinitev has generously allowed the results to act as a proof-of-concept pilot to be considered and inform the national agenda in the circular economy of vehicular and other battery usages and chemistries.
With huge growth in EV and HVs there is an obvious need for battery re-use, re-purposing and recycling solutions, with an obvious preference for controls in safety, quality/assurance and value for money.
This is an extremely fast-moving arena, and NTRO is keen and able to bring and contribute its experience in convening govt and industry bodies towards fit-for-purpose policies, protocols and standards, and in independently externally certifying products and processes.
NTRO thanks Infinitev for the interest and faith they have shown in NTRO Certification and its flexible product and process evaluation framework, which has been deliberately reimagined over the last 18 months to support and be consistent with most recent developments under the National Harmonisation Working Group into type approvals across the transport infrastructure space.
NTRO Chief Executive Officer Michael Caltabiano presented infinitev General Manager Dickson Leow with the NTRO certificate at our Melbourne headquarters, with NTRO Certification leader Nigel Powers on hand as well to congratulate infinitev.
