NTRO was pleased to welcome a delegation from the Department of Transportation, Hunan Province, in China to our head office in Port Melbourne.
The delegation was at NTRO to draw on advanced concepts in transportation planning from Australia, as well as methods for transportation project construction, operation, and management, to inform the development of Hunan Province's next five-year transportation plan.
The delegation met with many of NTRO’s experts during their visit for several presentations on NTRO’s work.
NTRO Chief Operating Officer Dr Richard Yeo and National Leader, Sustainability and Materials Performance, Dr Clarissa Han, also toured our visitors through our transport research labs. NTRO Senior Engineer in the Sustainability and Materials Performance team, Youli Lin, helped answer many questions in the lab for our visitors.
Other aims of the visit included exchanging insights on investment and financing models for highway projects, and investigating mechanisms for building a skilled transportation workforce and training technical workers to strengthen talent support for the transport sector.
