NTRO iPAVE technology helping across all modes of transport

iPAVE - the Intelligent Pavement Assessment Vehicle - is the National Transport Research Organisation's flagship infrastructure measurement vehicle.

It can be used on road and pavement assets across all transport modes - everything from our highways to airport runways.

NTRO has three iPAVE vehicles with plans for a fourth to be added by 2024, as NTRO's iPAVEs become the go-to infrastructure measurement solution for transport agencies in Australia and New Zealand.

NTRO's Executive Director of Roads Jeff Doyle spoke with ABC Radio Regional Victoria's Richard Crabtree on Statewide Mornings about the iPAVE's work with the Victorian Government to help assess the condition of the state's flood ravaged roads - especially in regional Victoria.

Jeff talks about how the iPAVE assesses performance and any damage above and below the road surface, and how we have provided information back to the Victorian Government to help with their road recovery efforts.
