The Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads and ARRB's join initiative NACOE has won the 2019 AAPA National Award for Innovation.

ARRB's successful joint initiative with Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads has been recognised with a prestigious national award.

The National Asset Centre of Excellence (NACOE) was named national Innovation Award winner for 2019 at the Australian Asphalt Pavement Association (AAPA) gala dinner and awards night.

"It's a great partnership between an innovative and committed Department of Transport and Main Roads and ARRB - the National Transport Research Organisation," ARRB chief executive officer Michael Caltabiano said.

"Well done to all of the many great people involved in this program of work."

NACOE helps deliver engineering excellence through cutting edge road research and innovation in four key disciplines, including pavements and asset management.

Recently the agreement between TMR and ARRB to continue NACOE’s operations was renewed for a further five years through to 2024.
