Innovation in Traffic Control
PORTABOOM® began in the mid-2010s as the breakthrough product and alternative to traditional ‘STOP/SLOW bat’ operations in temporary traffic control. Its standout feature — remote-controlled Traffic Control operations —allowed traffic controllers to manage vehicle flow from a safe zone, significantly reducing exposure to live traffic. This simple yet powerful innovation introduced a physical, highly visible barrier that ensured motorists came to a complete stop, dramatically improving on-site safety. PORTABOOM® is now a familiar and trusted sight on Australian roads.
A Decade of Certification Excellence
In July 2016, Traffic & Access Solutions commenced their journey with NTRO’s TIPES certification program — a partnership that has continued through successful renewals in 2019, 2022, and most recently in July 2025. With certification now extended through to 2028, this decade-long commitment reflects the company’s dedication to quality, innovation, and regulatory alignment.

The independent, technical endorsement helped translate innovation into credibility, enabling product adoption across the industry to align with national frameworks.
