NTRO is pleased to announce a new and significant membership with the International Association of Ports & Harbors (IAPH).

Founded in 1955, IAPH has developed into a global alliance of ports, representing member ports and port-related businesses in 87 countries.

NTRO Executive Director of Ports, Jason Sprott, is thrilled with the announcement and looks forward to engaging with the community at IAPH.

‘We are honoured to join the IAPH community of ports and professionals around the world. The world port community is connected and engaged in developing transport solutions for the future – and that exactly where NTRO is focussing our efforts,’ said Jason.

IAPH aims to be the global trade association of choice for port authorities and operators, representing their interests at regulatory level at the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the World Customs Organization, the International Standards Organisation and other global alliances such as the Global Maritime Forum and the World Economic Forum.

IAPH has consultative status and works on behalf of ports with additional United Nations bodies such as the UNCTAD (UN Conference on Trade and Development), UNEP (UN Environment Program) and the UN Global Compact.

‘This global associate membership with IAPH will allow our professionals to keep abreast of international trends and opportunities across infrastructure, supply chain, logistics, fuel transition and sustainability work through the World Port Sustainability Program (WPSP).

We hope to share our knowledge and insights with the sector to improve transport outcomes within the Australian and New Zealand context,’ said Jason.
